About the artist: Having emigrated from Bolivia in 1958 as a ten-year-old, Wudi grew up in the light and space environment that Los Angeles had to offer. He knew early on that he wanted to be an artist, and later attended Chouinard Art Institute, where he developed skills and independently furthered his studies by exploring medieval and early Renaissance painting. His travels throughout Burope and Asia stimulated creative receptivity to dif- ferent traditions, while returning back home to teach provided a balance to his practice,

resulting in art and exhibitions. Wudl's work may be found at the Whitney Museum of American Art; Smithsonian; UCLA, MOCA, and LACMA, among others.
